Local kids have quite a few opportunities to see the Big Man ahead of Christmas this year.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Visits and pictures with Santa Claus are treasured traditions for many Morristown families.

Christmas Fest At Morristown Green

  • Where: The Morristown Green
  • When: Saturday and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. until Dec. 21st, as well as Fridays (5th, 12th and 19th) from 3 to 8 pm.
  • What: “Decked out in holiday finery, the Morristown Green will become a wonderland of nostalgia during the month-long festival. Visits and photos with Santa, holiday crafts, ice sculpture demonstrations and rides on a miniature train will all return to delight the children while families bask in the glow of thousands of dazzling lights.”

Randolph Community Center

  • Where: 30 Calais Road, Randolph
  • When: Dec. 12, 5 to 8 p.m.
  • What: “Enjoy cookies and hot cocoa donated by Arbor Terrace of Morris Plains, fun crafts donated by Steve Jancarek / Coldwell Banker Realty, and $5 holiday glitter tattoos from Gigi Face Painting! There’ll also be a cheerful coloring station for kids and pictures with Santa.”

YMCA’s Jolly Holidays Family Event

  • Where: Greater Morristown YMCA at 79 Horsehill Road in Cedar Knolls
  • When: Dec. 5, 4 to 8 p.m.
  • What: Will feature cookie and ornament decorating, festive treats for sale, photos with Santa, and vendors.

Santa Train Ride

  • Where: Hidden Pond Tree Farm, 4 West Field Road, Mendham
  • When: Weekends through Dec. 23
  • What: This Christmas, families can enjoy a "wintry nighttime train ride" to Santa's Secret Outpost for a special visit! Children interact with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Families take a journey on our "Christmas Train". Tickets for this exclusive 30-40 minute experience must be purchased online in advance.
