School Board Elections 2024: See Candidates In Morristown, Morris Twp.
Monday was the deadline for all candidates to submit their petitions to run for school board. Take a look at who is running locally:

MORRISTOWN, NJ — The 2024 general election will likely be a high-turnout year with a presidential race on the ballot. But there will also be local decisions to be made on Nov. 5 in the Morris School District Board of Education race.
Monday, July 29 was the deadline for candidates to file petitions if they wanted to run in the November election.
The Morris School District board is made up of 10 elected members: Five from Morris Township, four from Morristown, and one from Morris Plains Borough. Residents in both Morristown and Morris Township will see current board members on the ballot, who looking to retain their seats as they expire in December.

Below is a list of candidates, and a campaign slogan if they submitted one. All information comes from the Morris County Clerk's office, and these positions are three-year terms unless stated otherwise.
Morris School District, Morristown representatives (voters can select 1)

- Vivian Rodriguez (incumbent), "Cultivating Possibilities"
Morris School District, Morris Township representative (voters can select up to 2)
- Linda K. Murphy (incumbent), "Put Kids First"
- Kathleen Cole (incumbent), "Excellence for Students"
Positions on school boards in towns in New Jersey are unpaid; board members help determine how educational resources and taxes are allocated and spent, and work with educators and administrators to plan the future of the district.
Early voting will take place from Saturday, Oct. 26 through Sunday, Nov. 3. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
