MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Keep those umbrellas handy, Morris County — this week's forecast calls for several days of rain, and chiller temperatures to begin April.
Between two and three inches of rain are expected over the next few days as part of a developing coastal storm, according to the National Weather Service. Light rainfall began on Monday across the state, with periods of rain expected to last into Thursday.
"While significant flooding is not currently anticipated, rises can be expected on creeks, streams, and rivers as well as minor flooding and ponding of low lying, poor drainage, and urban areas," NWS forecasters said.

Tuesday and Wednesday look to be the days with most significant rainfall, and forecasters said that a few late afternoon or evening thunderstorms are also possible Tuesday.
The rain is expected to taper off by Thursday afternoon, bringing in partly sunny skies with highs in the upper 40s.

Wednesday: Periods of rain. High near 42. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
Wednesday Night: Periods of rain, mainly before 2am. Low around 36. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Thursday: A chance of rain before 8am, then a chance of showers after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32.
Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 48. Breezy.
