Several Charged with DWIs

The following arrest information was supplied by the Morristown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Morristown police charged the following people with DWIs and other charges during the past week:

  • Police arrested and charged Justine Peleo, 24, of Warren, with driving while intoxicated at 1:43 a.m. on Oct. 2 after her Nissan was observed swaying across lanes on Miller Road, police said. She was later released into the custody of a sober friend, according to the incident report filed by Morristown police.
  • Police arrested and charged Ashley Tobias, 23, of Morris Plains, with driving while intoxicated, failure to stop at a posted stop sign and reckless driving at 1:16 a.m. on Oct. 1. Police observed Tobias' Pontiac G6 fail to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of DeHart Street and Maple Avenue, and proceed to make a wide right turn onto Maple Avenue, police said. Police observed Tobias' vehicle again not stop at a stop sign, this time turning onto Market Street, police said. Her vehicle then stopped past the stop line at Market Street and West Park Place, then turned during a "No Turn on Red" stop, according to police reports. She was later released into the custody of a family member.
  • Police arrested and charged Matthew Britton, 23, of Wayne, with driving while intoxicated, driving the wrong way down a one-way street and reckless driving at 1:24 a.m. Sept. 30. Officers had observed Britton, who said he had come from the , drive the wrong way down DeHart Street, which is a one-way street, according to police.
