Singers to Perform Classic Rent Duo at Morristown's Got Talent
Jasmin Serrano returns, joining Laura Rondinella, at fifth-annual event.

Take her or leave her. But, don't ignore her, or she'll be back.
Last year Jasmin Serrano, a former manager at , performed Bruno Mars' "Grenade" with friend Lauren Schulman at Morristown's Got Talent, missing the top three. This time, Serrano is joining forces with another singer, taking audience back to the 1990s. They are performing "Take Me or Leave Me," from the hit musical Rent.
For Serrano, trying out for the fifth-annual Morristown's Got Talent was a no-brainer. "It was just such a fun experience," she said. "Friendships built afterward made it something I definitely wanted to be part of again."

The singer's partner this time is Laura Rondinella, a singer from Jersey City. Like Serrano's previous partner, the two met about four years ago. Unlike her previous partner, , these two met during an audition.
The two were paired up randomly for the audition. The show? Rent. The song? "Take Me or Leave Me."

"It's a song we have been singing together ever since," Rondinella said. "When she approached me with idea of being in Morristown's Got Talent, we threw some ideas around. It would be so appropriate for us.
"I wanted to play opposite each other in that show, but she ended up getting cast and not me," she said. "My dream is to do it together and this is the opportunity."
Serrano called her casting in that version several years ago a fluke, praising her singing partner highly. "I got the part and she didn't, which is funny when you hear us. She's amazing," Serrano said. "She. Can. Sing."
Rondinella called it an honor to be among the 16 acts performing in the Feb. 29 event. Her partner said the performance part of it all was only part of the picture.
"It's just really fun," Serrano said."It was much more than just performing on the stage."
