Morris Township Committeewoman Cathy Wilson, Morris Plains Councilwoman Nancy Verga, and Mendham Township Committeewoman Amalia Duarte all commended Armington, Mayer, and Cotten for their public service during the end-of-year council meeting.

"I've watched all three of you in different capacities working with Morris County Democrats, also here in your capacity as council members. You're all leaders, you're all inspiring, you fire people up, you get things done. I'm excited to see what you decide to do in the next chapter of your lives. I'm so proud to call all three of you friends, in addition to having been colleagues," Duarte said.

At the end of the Dec. 12 town council meeting, Armington called his 12 years representing the Third Ward "one of my life’s greatest pleasures."

"I especially want to thank Mayor Tim Dougherty for guiding me in the early years, including me in many of the difficult decisions, allowing me to run with my priorities on my own, and his patience and tolerance when we did not agree. To the continuing and new council members, I wish you good luck," Armington said.
