Trash Pickup Canceled Tuesday For North Zone Of Morristown Due To Snow

Widespread heavy snowfall is expected after midnight Monday, with residents also asked to clear vehicles out of snow emergency routes.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Trash pickup for Morristown residents is cancelled Tuesday, as a powerful winter storm is expected to bring widespread heavy snowfall.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Morris County, beginning at midnight Monday and lasting until 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Refuse collection for the North Zone will resume on Friday, Feb. 16 as usual. South Zone residents have pickup dates on Monday and Thursday.

Recycling will be collected on Wednesday, Feb. 14 as normal, township officials said.

Morristown officials are also asking residents to move their vehicles off of the street so that road crews and first responders can get through.

Drivers who normally park on town streets overnight, and/or have on-street parking permits, may use one of the town's three garages for free, beginning at 7 p.m. Monday through 8 a.m. Wednesday.
