The Morristown native will race Wednesday night in the 200-meter breaststroke finals, going for his first medal.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — It's official: a Morristown native has a shot at medaling Wednesday night. Nic Fink placed second in Tuesday's semifinal for the 200-meter breaststroke.
It's the lone event for which Fink qualified in the Olympics, so it all comes down to the finals, which are set for 9:44 p.m. Wednesday on NBC.
Fink won his race in the preliminary round and came close to finishing first in the first heat of the semifinals. Fink finished at 2:08.00 — just behind Arno Kamminga of the Netherlands, who clocked in at 2:07.99.
