Watch For Snow Squalls In Morris County Wednesday, Forecasters Say
Bursts of heavy snowfall could make driving very hazardous throughout the day, forecasters said.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Quick-moving snow squalls may develop in Morris County on Wednesday afternoon and into the evening, and forecasters warned drivers to be cautious as these conditions can make travel hazardous.
The bursts of heavy snowfall are expected to move eastward from north-central Pennsylvania in the afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service. Snow squalls are possible in areas along the I-80 corridor in northwestern New Jersey, including in Morristown, said forecasters.
Residents in Warren and Sussex counties could also see squalls pop up, forecasters said.

"Snow squalls can quickly reduce visibilities to near zero rapid snow accumulations and blowing snow, making travel very dangerous at times, especially along interstate highways," forecasters said in a special weather statement.
Wind gusts are also expected to max out above 30 miles per hour as a cold front moves through the area, per forecasters.

Weather officials advise drivers to use extra caution if they receive a Snow Squall Warning, reduce speed, and leave extra space between the vehicle in front of them.
Drivers should be alert for sudden whiteout conditions, and are advised to get off onto the nearest exit or avoid travel until the squall passes.
