Why I’m Supporting Melissa Spiotta for the Morris School District Board of Education
A longtime volunteer and proven Board leader, Spiotta brings experience, fairness, and steady guidance to the Morris School District

In a time when our schools face real challenges—teacher retention, student well-being, budget pressures, and the daily balancing act between academics and inclusion—we need proven leaders who understand both the system and the people it serves. That’s why I’m supporting Melissa Spiotta for re-election to the Morris School District Board of Education.
I’ve known Melissa for close to twenty years, and we’ve worked together on the Morris Educational Foundation and other community volunteer projects. I’ve seen firsthand her integrity, dedication, and steady leadership—qualities that have defined her seven years of service on the Board. Melissa approaches every issue with preparation, fairness, and a deep commitment to the students, teachers, and families she represents.
Since joining the Board in 2018, Melissa has served as Board President, Vice President, and Chair of the Human Resources Committee, and continues to work on committees for Governance, Negotiations, and Policy. These positions represent hundreds of hours of listening, evaluating, and guiding decisions that shape the future of our schools. She leads with transparency and professionalism, always keeping the focus on what matters most—our children.
