MORRISTOWN, NJ —A wind advisory and heavy rain alert has been issued by the National Weather Service. Inclement weather is expected to last from Thursday afternoon into Friday evening.

Southeast winds up to 20 miles per hour with occasional gusts up to 50 miles per hour can be expected.

Officials advise using extra caution while driving, as winds this strong can make it difficult to drive in.

Officials also recommend charging all devices and contacting Jersey Central Power & Lighting for outages. Those who see a downed tree or power line are urged to call 911.
