14 Hospitalized After NJ Transit Bus Crash In Newark, Police Say

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — More than a dozen people were hospitalized after a crash involving a NJ Transit bus on Tuesday in Newark, authorities say.
Police responded to the intersection of 15th Avenue and Bedford Street at 10:46 a.m. after getting a call about a collision involving a bus and a private vehicle, which multiple reports have since identified as a PSE&G utility truck.

The bus had 12 passengers aboard at the time of the crash. All of them were transported to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
The drivers of the bus and the private vehicle were also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
