NJ Symphony Will Play Free Holiday Show At Newark Penn Station

Rush hour commuters at Newark Penn Station will get a holiday-themed treat on Dec. 17.

NEWARK, NJ — Rush hour commuters at Newark Penn Station will get a holiday-themed treat on Wednesday, Dec. 17: a free performance from the New Jersey Symphony Chamber Players.

The players – members of the Grammy and Emmy award-winning New Jersey Symphony – will perform holiday classics at the Newark Penn Station Waiting Room from 4:45 to 7:15 p.m. as part of NJ Transit’s “Music in Motion” concert series.

The Music in Motion series highlights the skills of Garden State musicians, who perform shows in NJ Transit facilities and stations. It first began as part of the agency’s 25th anniversary celebration in 2004, but was temporarily paused during the pandemic. The series relaunched last year.
