Amiri Baraka to Lead Presentation on 'Blues People'

What's going on in Newark Tuesday, Nov. 5

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, the Newark Museum is hosting a presentation on Blues People, the book on the history of African-American music written by poet Amiri Baraka 50 years ago. Baraka will lead a discussion and there will also be a concert as part of the presentation.

The event begins at 7 pm. The museum is located at 49 Washington St.


Tuesday is also Election Day, when voters will make their choice for governor as well as candidates for state Legislature. In Newark, there will also be an election for a vacant council seat and on a referendum calling for the creation of an open space trust fund. Polls will be open from 6 am to 8 pm.
