Authorities Seek Help in Newark Shooting Death

Authorities are asking the public's help for information in the shooting death of a 29-year-old Newark man who was killed near West Peddie Street and Ridgewood Avenue in Newark Monday night.

Quian Christmas was shot to death around 8:53 p.m. in an incident that wounded a second man, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office and the Newark Police Department.

Both agencies are investigating the crime. Christmas died at University Hospital around 9:15 p.m.

A second man, who was not identified, was wounded but is not cooperating with police.
