
The Greater Newark Conservancy, locatedin the heart of Newark, will host its annual fall block party Saturday from 10 am till 2 pm at 32 Prince St. ( between Springfield and South Orange avenues).
Attendees will enjoy free entertainment and lots of activities including face painting, crafts for kids (including pumpkin decorating) and a children’s scavenger hunt (with prizes). There will also be raffles and door prizes, bulb sales, gardening demonstrations and tree giveaways. Cast your vote in a pumpkin and sweet potato pie contest, and enjoy free food samples including a wide variety of apples and freshly churned butter.
Greater Newark Conservancy’s Youth Farmstand will offer healthy and nutritious seasonal produce for sale and an array of vendors will also be on hand.

Founded in 1987, Greater Newark Conservancy’s mission is to promote environmental stewardship to improve the quality of life in New Jersey’s urban communities through environmental education, community gardening, beautification of neighborhoods, job training opportunities and environmental justice.
