Newark police and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the murder of a 30-year-old Irvington man in Newark Tuesday, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
Anwar West, was found in the passenger seat of a car parked car at 6:11 pm. West, who had suffered a gunshot wound, was pronounced dead about 15 minutes later. He was found in the 200 block of N. 7th St., the prosecutor’s office said.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. The prosecutor’s office is asking the public for information regarding the shooting. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes tips line is 1-877-847-7432.
