Most City Services Closed Monday
Trash collection, courts, other services suspended for Veterans Day holiday

Mayor Luis A. Quintana reminded residents that all non-uniformed city services, including the Newark Municipal Court, will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Police, fire, and other uniformed emergency services will be unaffected.
Trash pick-ups, including recycling, that would normally occur on Monday will take place Thursday. Residents should not put out their garbage on Nov. 11, as doing so may result in a fine. On Thursday, on their normal collection days, residents must place their refuse at their curbs by 6 a.m. Residents whose trash is collected by a private contractor will not be affected by the holiday schedule.
