Newark Law Firm Named 'Employer of the Year'

The Newark office of a prominent law firm has been recognized by the New Jersey Business and Industry Association for a leadership program it created two years ago, the NJBIA announced.

Gibbons P.C. launched the Gibbons Leadership Academy to identify and develop future leaders, with an eye towards grooming future partners. The firm earned the Outstanding Employer Award from the NJBIA for the program.

The GLA platform imparts the most valuable tactical and strategic instruction for raising professional profiles, developing new business, providing stellar client service, effectively overseeing complex matters, and eventually honing the management and executive skills needed to successfully run the firm.

To date, Gibbons has trained about 80 percent of the firm’s lawyers—including 100 percent of its associates.

Since 1984, NJBIA annually has honored a select group of its members with an Award for Excellence. The Awards for Excellence winners demonstrate outstanding achievements in one of four award categories:  Business Expansion, Environmental Quality, Outstanding Employer, and Public Service.   All 21,000 NJBIA member companies in good standing are eligible to be nominated.
