Families visiting the "winter village" can enjoy ice skating, go-karts, carnival games, food and shopping – or even rent a heated igloo.
NEWARK, NJ — A popular, family friendly holiday attraction is kicking things into high gear in Newark: the city’s annual “Winter Village.”
Visitors to the 2023 winter village can enjoy an ice-skating rink, go-karts, carnival games and shopping – or even rent a private heated igloo. Food and beverages are available to purchase from local vendors including Neighborhood Scoops, Little Tijuana, Fun Services, Best Spudz, and Hit da Spot.
The festive event at Mulberry Commons Park is located just outside the Prudential Center. For the 2023-2024 season, the village will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays to Fridays, and from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is free, but reservations and tickets are required for ice skating ($15 for adults/$10 if you bring your own skates, $10 for children), go-karting ($20 per person) and igloo rentals ($50 per hour for up to five people).
