The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Newark police are investigating a homicide Thursday night in Newark.
Willis Cross, 38, of Newark, was shot and killed at approximately 6 p.m. Thursday at his Homestead Park home.
He was discovered inside the house with a gunshot wound, officials said.

He was transported to University Hospital in Newark, where he was pronounced dead at 8:38 p.m.
