Super Bowl Committee Donates to Newark Boys and Girls Club
Charity disbursing funds to nonprofits affected by Sandy

The Boys and Girls Club of Newark is sharing in $1.5 million in grants donated to nonprofits throughout the state by the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
The money will be distributed by the NY/NJ Super Bowl Committee, which was formed after MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford was chosen as the venue for Super Bowl XLVIII/ The game will be played in February.
The grants will be used to pay for repairs needed in the wake of Superstorm Sandy last year.

Along with the Boys and Girls Club of Newark, four other clubs will receive funds, as will Jersey Cares, which is repairing playgrounds at hard-hit Shore towns. Other recipients include a Youth Consultation Service facility in Hackensack and a community center in Highlands.
