Third Person Murdered in Newark Tuesday

A man was shot and killed early Tuesday evening on West End Avenue, the third homicide in Newark that day, The Star Ledger reported.

Prosecutors released little information about the death, which followed the beating and stabbing deaths of two people in their apartment on South 11th Street at 3:30 pm.

One of the victims, 54-year-old Ruby Green, has since been identified. The 64-year-old man’s identity had not been released as of early Wednesday morning.

Green had been stabbed and died later at University Hospital, the Ledger reported. The man had been beaten about the face and was pronounced dead at the scene. Nothing was taken from the home, the paper also said.
