“Recently, Port Authority police officers Joseph DeSilvio and Angel Paulino were conducting a patrol inside Newark Liberty International Airport’s Terminal A, when they were alerted to an incident at a JetBlue ticket counter. The officers were informed that a 2-year-old child wandered onto a luggage conveyor belt that took the child through the terminal’s luggage sorting system. Both officers, without hesitation, were able to enter the system on the conveyor belt in search of the child.”
Here's what happened next, the PBA stated:
“At one point, the system separated into two conveyor belt routes. Each officer continued their search in different conveyor directions. After approximately four to five minutes, the child was located approaching an x-ray machine.”
“Thankfully, because of the officer’s valiant efforts, the child was not injured and was reunited with a grateful mom,” the PBA concluded.
