United Airlines Debuts Starlink Wi-Fi On Flight From Newark, More Installations Planned
United Airlines has reached a deal with SpaceX, the Elon Musk-founded company that owns the Starlink satellite network.

NEWARK, NJ — Starlink has arrived at United Airlines.
When United flight 2940 took off from Newark, New Jersey last week, it marked a significant moment in the airline’s attempt to add Starlink on all of its aircraft “over the next several years.”
Last year, United Airlines announced that it reached a deal with SpaceX, the Elon Musk-founded company that owns the Starlink satellite internet constellation. Since then, major progress has been made, the company says.

United's first Starlink-equipped regional flight took place in May 2025. Currently, the airline has Starlink installed on more than half of the aircraft in its regional fleet.
United marked another milestone on Oct. 15, when a Newark-to-Houston flight represented the first time a major U.S. airline has offered Starlink wi-fi on a mainline flight with connectivity across both personal devices and inflight entertainment screens.

The airline said it expects to install Starlink antennas on up to 15 mainline 737-800 planes every month.
