NEWARK, NJ — United Airlines will launch a new shuttle schedule between Newark Liberty International Airport and Reagan National Airport on Halloween.

The flights, which start on Oct. 31, will operate seven days a week, with 18 flights offering nearly hourly service between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. The route will use the dual-class CRJ-550, which United billed as “the world’s first 50-seat regional jet with first-class seats and amenities.”

The airline will also operate five daily flights between Newark Airport and Dulles International Airport.

In total, United plans to operate about 32 flights each day between the New York City and the Washington D.C. areas – a 78 percent increase, spokespeople said.

United Airlines is also giving all of its New York City customers an upgrade, the company said. Starting Oct. 31, all of the airline’s departures from Newark Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport and LaGuardia Airport will include a first-class option, including the 737 MAX-8 and the CRJ-550.
