Young Leukemia Patients Get a Special Gift
Children at Newark Beth Israel receive iPads Friday

Ten young cancer patients at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center got quite a surprise Friday, when each received a new iPad mobile device.
The donation, part of the Childhood Luekemia Foundation’s Keeping Kids Connected program, was made by the foundation and Cigna. Four more iPads, to be shared by other patients, were also donated.
The children also received a short demonstration of HopeLab’s cancer-fighting game app Re-Mission 2: Nanobot’s Revenge, which is preloaded on each iPad. Re-Mission 2, developed by HopeLab with support from Cigna. The Re-Mission game helps children relate to cancer in a video game. Each game uses weapons like chemotherapy, antibiotics and the body’s natural defenses to destroy the evil cancer cells.
