Youth Charged in Stabbing of Barringer High Student
Victim died one week after being injured

A boy has been charged with murder after a 17-year-old Barringer High School student stabbed last week died from his wounds, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office announced Friday.
Stanley Francois was stabbed during what authorities described as an altercation around 3 pm Oct. 3 near Park Avenue and North Fourth Street. He was taken to University Hospital and initially listed in stable condition, but succumbed to his wounds Thursday, the prosecutor’s office said. The death was classified a homicide following an autopsy.
The suspect, a male juvenile, is being held at the Essex County Youth House. His precise age was not immediately available, a prosecutor’s office spokesperson said Friday.
