Bergen Man Gets 5 Years For Sharing Child Sex Abuse Pictures

Barry Goldstein, 46, is also sentenced to 15 years of supervised release.

A Bergen County man was sentenced to five years in federal prison for distribution images of child sexual abuse, authorities announced.

Barry Goldstein, 46, of Bergenfield previously pleaded guilty to distribution of images of child sexual abuse before U.S. District Judge Madeline Cox Arleo in Newark federal court Tuesday, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.

Goldstein communicated with an undercover law enforcement officer on an instant messaging app from May to August 2018. In May and June, Goldstein had explicit conversations with the officer about the sexual abuse of kids and shared multiple files showing such abuse, Carpenito announced.

Authorities search Goldstein's home, interviewed him, and arrested him, Carpenito said.

Goldstein was also sentenced to 15 years of supervised release.
