Greater Bergen YMCA in New Milford Offers 2 Months of Free Child Care

Register to Attend an Open House on Oct. 22

NEW MILFORD, NJ - The Greater Bergen County YMCA - New Milford is waiving the cost of child care for the remainder of 2022 for new families who enroll in the Y’s preschool program from November through August 2023.

Families are invited to learn more about this special offer and Child Care programs at the Y during an Open House on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m Enjoy free Halloween science and crafts. Families can register to attend by completing a brief online form or by calling 973-758-9039.

The Greater Bergen County Y - New Milford Center, located at 1092 Carnation Dr., offers affordable child care for children ages 2 ½ to 5, with convenient hours and flexible scheduling options for working parents. The Y anticipates serving younger infants (6 weeks-18 months) and waddler ages (18-24 months) in January 2023. Center features include:

  • Extended hours: 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. at no extra cost.
  • Hands-on and creative play using blocks, dramatic play toys and games
  • Areas for art, library, discovery, sand & water, music & movement
  • Daily access to outdoor playground or indoor gym
  • Safe environment: Staff background checks, secure facilities and visitor screening
  • Low teacher-to-child ratios
  • Curriculums that promote youth development, healthy lifestyles, and social and emotional learning
  • New! Two sports and enrichment classes per week

Families who enroll their child through Aug. 31, 2023 will pay no registration or tuition fees for November and December.

Families are encouraged to apply for financial assistance through the Y for All Fund. Qualifying applicants can receive a reduced rate on their child care tuition.

*Most child care subsidies (including Office For Children) are also accepted.
