On Saturday, the New Milford Knights sixth grade basketball travel team won the 2012 <a href="http://www.bergentravelbasketball.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Bergen Travel Basketball League </a>(BTBL) Championship, National Guard Division, 34-20 against Waldwick in the finals.  According to the coaches, the team lived up to its motto, "Hard work-team work." Strong defense allowed the Knights to control most of the game and dominate the boards. Assistant Coach Edwin Maniago said, "Defense wins games and our boys were determined to dominate the game." The Knights, led by Coach Russell Johnson, Asst. Coach Dave Morfe and Maniago ended the season undefeated, 16-0. Maniago said that this win is the first time that the New Milford Knights Basketball travel team was undefeated in the regular season and went on to win the championship.
