NMPD Charge Two With Possession and Distribution; Possession Of Stolen Credit Card
Traffic stop yields drug possession and distribution charges; possession of stolen credit card

Chief of Police Frank Papapietro said that a traffic stop made shortly after midnight on May 31 by Officer Derek Mattessich resulted in drug possession and distribution charges, as well as the charge of possession of a stolen credit card.
According to Papapietro, Mattessich stopped the car on Bulger Avenue for equipment violations and discovered that the driver, Dominique Turzilli, 19, of Butler, had an outstanding warrant.
The passenger, John Saati, 22, of New Milford, was ordered out of the car by Sgt. William Duby, Jr., and a pat down search uncovered $1,217 in cash Saati claimed he won in Atlantic City, Papapietro said.

As Saati exited the vehicle he knocked over Turzilli's pocketbook revealing a clear plastic bag containing what officers believed to be marijuana, Papapietro said.
The backseat contained an open backpack with plastic bags filled with pills officers identified as ecstasy, oxycodone and Xanax. Also found was a Chase Freedom Card belonging to an unknown party, numerous small clear plastic bags and a small scale, Papapietro reported.

The credit card, traced by P.O. Kevin VanSaders to a party in Maryland, was last seen by the owner at a restaurant in Atlantic City during the same time frame Saati claimed to be there. The owner told NMPD that when he went to close out his tab at the restaurant he was informed by staff that it was already done it and the party took the card.
Turzilli was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, CDS in a motor vehicle and motor vehicle violations. She was released pending a court date.
Saati was charged with three counts of distribution/intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and possession of a stolen credit card. Bail was set by New Milford Municipal Judge Kevin Kelly at $30,000 with a 10 percent option. Saati was released pending Grand Jury action.
