Pedestrian Struck on River Road

Accident under investigation

New Milford Police Chief Frank Papapietro reported that a 56-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while crossing eastbound on River Road at Faller Drive at approximately 6:15 p.m. Friday evening.

The vehicle, a Toyota Camry, driving northbound on River Road, was driven by a 58-year-old female. Traveling in the car was an adult female passenger and a female child who was secured in a car seat in the rear seat of the vehicle.

The pedestrian was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center by New Milford Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Hackensack Paramedics, who arrived at the scene. Papapietro told Patch that the vehicle was impounded pending conclusion of the investigation.
