YJCC Offers Program For Adults with Developmental Disabilities
Volunteers help participants in the S.A.I.L. program make crafts.

Debra Eichhorn, right, finishes a craft project with participants of S.A.I.L., the Bergen County YJCC’s day program for adults with developmental disabilities. Debra donates time every week to guide S.A.I.L. members through a project like fiber art, crochet, soap-making, and making the yarn baskets shown above. She learned about S.A.I.L. (self-determination, advocacy, independence, living) through the special needs department at the YJCC, where her young son attends after-school classes for children on the autism spectrum. Debra is an attorney who now spends her time teaching a variety of crafts. The YJCC is located at 605 Pascack Road, Township of Washington. For information about S.A.I.L. or any program at the YJCC for those with special needs, contact Gina Wellington at (201) 666-6610, ext. 5810 or gwellington@yjcc.org. Credit YJCC
