3 Injured In Head-On Jersey Shore Car Collision, Officials Say

One person was trapped in a vehicle, another was on the ground and the third had taken themselves out of the car, firefighters said.

UPPER TWP., NJ — Three people were hospitalized following a head-on crash at the Jersey Shore over the weekend, the Marmora Volunteer Fire Company said.

The fire company, along with Seaville Fire and Rescue, Tuckahoe Volunteer Fire Company and the Upper Township Division of EMS were dispatched to the 800 block of South Shore Road in the Palermo section of Upper Township at about 12:25 p.m. Saturday, according to a social media post.

Upon arrival, responders found two cars that collided head-on. One person was entrapped in the first vehicle, one person from the second vehicle was on the ground and the third had extricated themselves from the second vehicle, officials said.

Two AtlantiCare paramedic units and a medevac helicopter were requested, as well as an Ocean City fire engine to handle the helicopter's landing zone and an Ocean City ambulance to transport the third person, officials said.

All three people involved were hospitalized. Their current status was not shared by officials.
