Formerly known as the Tomato Festival, West Cape May is hosting a Salute to Summer Festival at the Borough’s Backyard Park, 732 Broadway in West Cape May (behind the Fire House) on Saturday, Sept. 4.
The patriotic-themed festival celebrates the ending of the summer season. Festivities are planned to begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m.
Proceeds from the quirky event benefit the WCM Shade Tree Commission in their endeavor to protect and improve the tree canopy of West Cape May.

Free Concert At Convention Hall
Beach Bumz Band will be performing a free concert in Cape May on the beach in front of Convention Hall at 6 p.m.
The Beach Bumz Band is a Baltimore and Orlando based tribute band performing music from Jimmy Buffet, the Beach Boys, and many more summer music classics. Attendees are encouraged to bring beach chairs and blankets for the free, family-friendly concert.
Annual Labor Day Race
The 30th annual OCNJ Labor Day Race is set for Monday, Sept. 6. The event is a 5-mile beach run with the start and finish at 23rd Street.
The event also includes at 1-mile walk/run on the beach. Online registration is now open at ocnj.us/race-events. Race-day registration opens at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 9 a.m.
