60-Degree Temperatures Expected In NJ This Week, Forecasters Say
Afternoon highs are expected to climb into the low 60s across most of New Jersey this week, according to the National Weather Service.
NEW JERSEY — Fans of mild, fall weather can look forward to the next few days in New Jersey as warmer air moves through the region, forecasters say.
Afternoon highs are expected to climb into the 60s across most of the state and could even reach nearly 70 degrees in South Jersey by Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Experts anticipate overnight lows to be within 40 degrees rather than the 30-degree trend residents observed last week.
In fact, temperatures dipped down to 21 degrees in Sussex County on Friday. Overall, temperatures across the Garden State have been 5 to 10 degrees colder than average over the past few days. But forecasters say the bitter cold of early November is a thing of the past.

The warming trend has been caused by a shift in wind direction, allowing warmer air to drift in from the south and west, forecasters said.
In early November, New Jersey typically sees daytime highs in the upper 50s and overnight lows in the upper 30s, according to the service.

Per NJ.com, the state saw at least seven towns warming to around 69 degrees on Monday: Basking Ridge, Hamilton, Hopewell, Mansfield, Newark, Somerville and Walpack. The following areas saw temperatures around the 68-degree mark: Cape May, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Salem, Somerset and Sussex counties.
The warming trend comes one week after New Jersey saw its first frost of the season, marking an end to the growing season in the Garden State.

The warmer weather is expected to last into the middle of November with temperatures cooling off to several degrees below average levels.
Conditions will be dry and skies will be clear through the end of this week until several frontal boundaries are expected to pass through the region bringing a potential for rain showers and temperatures around the 50s.
After milder weather for this week, it is expected to turn cooler again for later in the weekend and into next week. See the graphic with the Climate Prediction Center's 6 to 10 day outlook for the details. #nycwx #nywx #njwx #liwx #ctwx pic.twitter.com/Hme9Lzkqlu
