60-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Middle Twp, Police Say
The Wildwood resident was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
MIDDLE TOWNSHIP, NJ - A 60-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle early Wednesday morning in Middle Township, authorities said.
At around 6:40 a.m., the Middle Township Police Department responded to Fulling Mill Road (CR 654) in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian, Middle Township police said in a Nixle alert.
An initial investigation found the pedestrian, identified as Mark Bowers, 60, of Wildwood, was crossing Fulling Mill Road and was struck by a motor vehicle that was traveling south.

Bowers was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the motor vehicle did not report any injuries.
It’s not clear whether the driver will be facing charges in connection with the crash.

The roadway was closed for approximately four hours, police said.
The accident was investigated by members of the Middle Township Police Major Crimes Unit, Middle Township Police Crash Team and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and remains ongoing.
