Atlantic Co. Man Sentenced In Armed Domestic Dispute
The 36-year-old was sentenced to several years in state prison in connection with the domestic assault, authorities said.

HAMILTON, NJ - An Atlantic County man was sentenced earlier this month to several years in state prison in connection with a domestic assault at a Hamilton Township residence in 2021, authorities said.
Joseph Ferante, 36, of Hamilton Township, was sentenced on May 5 to five years in New Jersey State Prison for third-degree unlawful possession of a sawed-off shotgun and a concurrent three-year State Prison sentence for third degree aggravated assault, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said in a Friday statement. Ferante won’t be eligible for parole until over three years into his sentence, authorities said.
Ferante was arrested on September 9, 2021 after police responded to a residence in Hamilton Township for a report of a domestic dispute. At the scene, the victim told police Ferante had assaulted him and then fled the area. A police search of the residence yielded the discovery of a sawed-off shotgun belonging to Ferante.
