Best NY-Style Can Be Found At This Ocean City Pizzeria, Data Says

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Looking for the perfect New York-style slice? You can find it at this Ocean City pizzeria, according to a new national directory of regional pizza styles.

The Washington Post created the directory using Yelp data.

“We set out to find the country’s best pizzas, from slice shops in New York City to fancy California-inspired pizzas, gathering favorites from experts, historians and pros around the country,” The Post reported. “For a more populist view, Washington Post data columnist Andrew Van Dam analyzed 7.5 million Yelp reviews of pizzerias to see which regional-style restaurants attract the most and highest ratings.”

The newspaper only considered pizzerias that had at least 100 Yelp reviews and where a substantial share mentioned the pizza style in question — Chicago, New York, Detroit, Neapolitan, Roman, or Sicilian.

So where can you find the perfect New York pie? At Roma's Pizza, according to the directory. It was named the best New York-style pizza in New Jersey.

This Boardwalk pizzeria has a 4.6 star rating on Yelp. Naturally, many of these reviews cite their New York pizza as being the reason for the great reviews.

Reviewers say that it is not just the best pizza on the Boardwalk, but in all of Ocean City.

So dig into Roma Pizza's delicious pies, whether you prefer plain, pepperoni or pickle (yep, that's a thing there).
