City Seeks Volunteer to Fill Housing Authority Vacancy

Anybody interested must apply by Oct. 17.

The City of Ocean City hopes to fill an unexpired five-year term on the local Housing Authority that ends Dec. 31, 2013.

The Ocean City Housing Authority is an independent body responsible for the ownership and management of public housing in Ocean City in accordance with state and federal guidelines.  The Board of Commissioners are responsible for the oversight of finances and policies.

Housing Authority Commissioners must complete five courses within 18 months of appointment. Courses are paid for by the Housing Authority.

The authority meets six times per year.

Anybody interested in being considered is asked to forward a Citizen Leadership Form to the City Clerk by email at lmacintyre@ocnj.us or by mail to Linda MacIntyre, City Clerk, 861 Asbury Avenue, Ocean City, NJ  08226. Forms must be received no later than Oct. 17.
