Fire Breaks Out On Deck Of Ocean City Home, Officials Say (See Photos, Video)
The blaze was quickly extinguished thanks to the work of local firefighters.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — Smoke could be seen in the skies of Ocean City Tuesday as firefighters battled a rooftop deck blaze.
It was around 12:30 p.m. when firefighters were dispatched to the area of 12th and Ocean Avenue for a structure fire, according to the Ocean City Firefighters Association. At the time of dispatch, both ambulances, Truck 1, and Engine 2 were actively engaged on other calls.
Deputy Chief R. Bickmore arrived on scene, established command, and provided an initial size-up. A Working Fire Dispatch was then struck recalling all available off duty personnel.

Fire engines and the truck arrived shortly after, officials said.
The fire was discovered on the fourth floor deck and was quickly extinguished, officials said.

"We would like to thank all responding companies, including our mutual aid partners," Ocean City firefighters said. "Due to a fast and coordinated response, the fire was quickly brought under control and contained to the rooftop deck and attic space."
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
