Fishing Club Members to Address Rotary, Exchange Clubs
The Ocean City Fishing Club continues to celebrate its centennial year.

The Ocean City/Upper Township Rotary Club and the Ocean City Exchange Club have invited guest speakers from the Ocean City Fishing Club (OCFC) to discuss the club’s ongoing, year-long celebration of its 100th anniversary.
 Augie Conte, Jr., OCFC’s first vice president, will address the Rotary Club at a breakfast meeting at Uncle Bill’s Pancake House, 21st Street and Asbury Avenue, on Thursday, August 1. Conte, who resides in Ocean City and Cherry Hill, is a nationally recognized authority on renewable energy, including solar power, and on environmental protection.
On Monday, August 5, OCFC trustee George Ingram will speak at a dinner meeting of the Exchange Club at L’s Restaurant on Route 50 in Corbin City. Ingram is the club’s public relations chairman, yearbook editor, and chair of the Centennial celebration. He is a retired associate vice president for university relations at Temple University.

Founded in 1913, the Ocean City Fishing Club is the oldest, continuously operating fishing club in America.
The Ocean City Historical Museum is currently hosting a special exhibition on the club’s history. Upcoming OCFC events include the 38th annual Boys and Girls Surf Fishing Tournament on Saturday, August 10, and a three-day Centennial Surf Fishing Tournament that may bring as many as 100 teams to Ocean City on October 17-19.Find out what's happening in Ocean Cityfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
