Five Things to Know About Thursday's Council Agenda
Ocean City will consider spending $4.5 million on capital improvements and another $35,000 for floating docks for the public at the Bayside Center.

Ocean City Council has a full agenda for its public meeting 7 p.m. Thursday (July 11) at the Ocean City Free Public Library, but here are five things that might be of special interest:
- $4.3 million bond ordinance: City Council will vote on the second and potentially final reading of an ordinance that appropriates $4.5 million and borrows $4.3 million for capital improvements throughout the city. More than half ($2,500,000.) is earmarked for continued paving and drainage improvements.
- Technology, police and fire appropriations:Â City Council will vote on the second and potentially final reading of an ordinance that appropriates $125,000 for technology improvements to the Finance Department, Ocean City Police Department equipment (ATV, weapons, E-ticket application and mobile data computers) and Ocean City Fire Department equipment (power loader for ambulance).
- Docks at Bayside Center: City Council will vote to approve spending $35,000 for an EZ Dock System (floating docks)Â for public use at the Bayside Center (between Fifth and Sixth streets off Bay Avenue).
- McCrosson and Stanton: City Council will vote to give a contract to the McCrosson and Stanton firm of Ocean City for legal services for the rest of 2013 and the first half of 2014.
- 34th Street Tennis Courts: City Council will vote to make a final payment of about $140,000 to All Surface Asphalt Paving of Point Pleasant for the reconstruction of the tennis courts at the 34th Street recreation area.
