Fox Vocal Arts to Present a Kid-Friendly 'Hansel and Gretel'
The free shows are Dec. 27 and Dec. 29.
The Ocean City Free Public Library will provide a cozy space for kids of all ages to enjoy the timeless tale of 'Hansel and Gretel' during four shows: 2 and 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27; and 1:30 p.m and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29.
The performances include the original Humperdinck musical score abbreviated and last about an hour. They feature young studio singers ages 7 to 17 with student accompanist Conor Ancharski and professional violinist Sandi Miller.
Staged and costumed, the opera is a predecessor to the "Hansel and Gretel" bilingual production Fox takes to Germany in July 2014 as part of the Operafest International student singers' exchange program.
