NEW JERSEY — Though Wednesday is expected to be sunny and dry during the day, yet another storm system bringing wet weather is expected to move through the region overnight into early Thursday morning.
A wintry mix of light snow, sleet and freezing rain is headed toward northern New Jersey, the National Weather Service said Wednesday.
Sussex, Warren and Morris counties will see that wintry mixture while mostly light rain is expected to fall in Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties, according to the weather agency.

Forecasters anticipate the precipitation to begin at 10 p.m. Wednesday through early Thursday morning around 2 a.m.
“The good news is temperatures rise overnight so by Thursday morning any lingering precipitation will just be light rain,” the weather service said.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 45. West wind around 5 mph.
Wednesday Night: A chance of light rain before 10 p.m., then rain likely, mainly between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 34. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Thursday: A chance of rain before 10 a.m., then a slight chance of showers between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 39. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30.
