Fundraiser on Tuesday Features Unlimited Rides for $10

A fundraiser from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday (June 25) at Playland's Castaway Cove (between 10th and 11th streets on the Ocean City Boardwalk) offers access to four hours of unlimited rides, two mini-golf courses and go-carts with the purchase of a $10 wristband.

All proceeds from FUNDAY at Playland go to Community Quest, Inc. to further its mission in providing housing and employment programs for disadvantaged people. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

It's the 15th annual event and visitors in past years have helped raise as much as $30,000 to help people with developmental disabilities find housing and employment.

Some families say they plan their family vacation each year around the event. 

"It's a great deal for children and families," Mike Murray said last summer. "At $10, it's worth it for me to get on some rides."

His family brought six children who all said they enjoyed the event. From ages 8  to 15, the bunch gathered at the end for a family photo to commemorate a day well-spent.
