Gov. Murphy Tells CNBC: 'A Chance' That NJ Schools Could Reopen

NEW JERSEY – Gov. Phil Murphy told CNBC on Monday that there's "a chance" that schools could reopen by May 15, even though restrictions would certainly be in place.

Murphy made the remarks as he offered a broad reopening plan on Monday, providing a six-point outline to "restart New Jersey and put the state on the road to recovery." Read more: Gov. Murphy Issues 6-Point NJ Reopen Plan In Coronavirus Crisis

"There is a chance" that schools will reopen before the 2019-20 academic year is over, Murphy said in the video below, adding his administration is trying to develop information for this decision "in bites."

"This is going to be a new norm, including what schools look like, including distancing, whether or not you have general assemblies. My guess is you don't," Murphy told CNBC.
