Dear Friends:

The City Council and I have received a great deal of feedback since I announced the potential site for the new skate park.

I remain committed to completing this long-awaited project. However, the administration is glad to seriously consider other potential sites in addition to the area near the Sports and Civic Center, which some neighbors have concerns with.  Other viable sites do exist.

Earlier this week, I met with a committee from the City Council to discuss this matter further. We will explore the feasibility of additional sites and seek further public input.

Last evening, the City Council held their second workshop on public safety services.  The police chief and fire chief answered questions from the council and the public.  We will continue to review the most efficient way to provide these and other city services.  There is nothing that a local government does that is more important than keeping people safe.  You can be assured that any changes that are made will not jeopardize public safety in any manner.
