Naked Man Committed Lewd Acts On Jersey Shore Beach, Police Say

LOWER TWP., NJ — A Vineland man is accused of committing multiple lewd acts on Higbee Beach during the month of August, Lower Township police said.

In the first incident, a woman told police she had an interaction with a man - later identified as 44-year-old Leonardo L. Medero - that made her uncomfortable. Medero briefly left the area, but reappeared naked and committing a lewd act, police said.

Just a few days later, two people reported a similar incident with a man, committing a lewd act, while they were on Higbee Beach, police said. The description given was similar, with all acts seemingly being committed by the same person, police said.

Medero was identified as the suspect and charged with multiple counts of lewdness, police said.

He now sits in the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending court.
